We had fun playing "word mingle" today!  Each student had a sight word sticker, and everyone "mingled" around the room writing their friends' words.  I was soooo proud of the kids...they had to read names on the recording sheet, read sight words, AND write sight words. Wow...what a way to start the day!!

We also had a visit from Zero the Hero today...can you believe it's already the 90th day of kindergarten??
He brought fruit loops and string to make pattern necklaces. (and a few extra to eat, too :)

We've been reading SNEEZY THE SNOWMAN this week during our reader's workshop time.  Yesterday, we made a book called "If You Are A Snowman".  The kids thought of something a snowman should NOT do...just like Sneezy in the story...otherwise it might melt!

Today, we made my favorite kindergarten recipe...Snow Ice Cream!  (since Sneezy ended the story eating ice cream :)  Here's the recipe, if you would like to try it at home:

8 cups clean snow
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla (optional)
Mix together and enjoy. Yummers!
